• Discharge wastewater from cleaning equipment into a sink, toilet, or other drain connected to the sanitary sewer system, or pump wastewater to your truck for proper off-site disposal. 
• Never allow wastewater to be discharged into a street, driveway gutter, parking lot or storm drain.
• Filter wastewater before discharging it to the sanitary sewer to remove fibers and other debris could clog sanitary sewer pipes.
• Dispose of the filtered material in the garbage if it is free of hazardous substances.
• These guidelines apply even if the cleaning products are labeled “nontoxic” or “biodegradable”.  Such products can still have harmful environmental effects if they enter the storm drain.
