Pet Waste

  • While walking your dog, use a shopping bag or sandwich bag to pick up animal droppings. Turn the baggie inside out over your hand and use it as a glove to pick up the waste, then fold the bag over the material and place inside another bag for safe disposal or burial in your yard later.

  • Flush pet waste down the toilet or bury it in a shallow hole dug in the yard, at least 6 inches deep.

  • Pet waste can be placed in the trash also, but consider the security of the wrappings to hold up to handling by trash services.

  • Obey all local municipal requirements in city parks regarding proper collection and disposal of your animal’s waste.

  • Purchase and use a lawn animal waste composter, typically ones placed in the ground.
